Louisiana’s LA GATOR Education Savings Account (ESA) program expands options by allowing parents to direct education funding to the setting that best fits their child. Demand has been strong — over 40,000 families applied — but funding currently supports only about 6,000 students, leaving many families without access.

School choice is also a workforce issue: flexible learning models and specialized pathways can prepare students for in-demand careers and strengthen Louisiana’s long-term growth.
